Frequently Asked Questions

What is Team of Monkeys?
Team of Monkeys is a software company that builds high-quality apps optimized for big-screen TVs. We create experiences that are smooth, intuitive, and tailored for TV viewing with non-intrusive affiliate ads.
Do any of your apps show ads?
Yes. We use non-intrusive affiliate ads tied to targeted niche deals. They are designed to stay out of your way and not interrupt app usage.
How do you monetise your apps?
We primarily monetize through targeted niche markets with affiliate deals that provide good value to users. For some of our LG apps, we also offer an optional partnership with Bright SDK for web indexing. Our affiliate ads are designed to be non-intrusive while helping fund ongoing development.
Will the indexing service affect my TV performance or internet usage?
No. The indexing runs quietly in the background and is designed to use only minimal bandwidth. It does not interfere with your app’s responsiveness or streaming.
What do I get for agreeing to the web indexing?
Our apps are built to deliver great value without requiring accounts, and web indexing can unlock additional features in selected apps. You stay in control: we put transparency and respect for your privacy first, and you can turn web indexing off at any time in Settings. Resource use remains minimal and does not affect normal device operation.
Can I opt-out of the web indexing service?
Yes, opting out is simple. If you no longer want to participate, click the circular 'Select' button on your LG remote to view the main menu, and then click on 'Settings'. Once in Settings, toggle the web indexing switch to the left which disables web indexing. This action fully removes any connection to the web indexing service and stops any bandwidth usage associated with it. The app will then be restricted to a limited view until you re-enable web indexing to unlock full features again.
Is my data collected or shared?
Your personally identifiable data is not collected or shared. The indexing our partners perform does not access private personal information; it only supports technical indexing tasks needed by our research partners.
Which platforms do you support?
We support WebOS, Windows, Linux, and Android, with more platforms coming soon.
