Pricing: Rayobyte vs Webshare illustration showing Per GB connecting through Compare to Per IP, covering per gb, per ip, plans 3jdej38j4

Two pricing philosophies

  • Webshare prices most products per IP: datacenter and static residential lists, with bandwidth and thread settings. Rotating residential is per GB on monthly plans.
  • Rayobyte prices rotating products per GB (pay as you go or monthly), static products per IP with unmetered bandwidth, and its Scraping API per successful request.

All figures are list prices at the time of writing (October 2026). See Rayobyte pricing explained and Webshare pricing explained.

Residential

Monthly useRayobyte (pay as you go)Webshare (monthly plan)
1 GB$3.50$3.50
10 GB$35About $25 to $35
100 GB$200 ($2/GB)About $225 (about $2.25/GB)
250 GB$375 ($1.50/GB)Lower tier, still above Rayobyte's rate
1 TB$700 ($0.70/GB)Above $1.40/GB until 3,000 GB
3 TB$2,100 ($0.70/GB)About $4,200 ($1.40/GB)

Below about 50 GB the two are similar; above it, Rayobyte is cheaper and the gap grows. Rayobyte also sells Scale Residential (from $100 a month for 6,600 GB, no targeting) for huge untargeted crawls.

Datacenter

RayobyteWebshare
Cheapest static listSemi-dedicated from $1/IP (US, CA)Shared from $2.99 per 100 IPs ($0.03 each)

Rotating per GB$0.30 down to $0.23; monthly plans about 1 centNo rotating per-GB datacenter pool

For static lists, Webshare is far cheaper per IP. For per-GB rotating datacenter traffic, only Rayobyte sells it. See datacenter compared.

ISP

RayobyteWebshare
Static ISP$5/IP (5 to 99), $4.60 at 1,000About $0.30/IP (20 to 250), $0.225 at 10,000
Rotating ISP$3.75 to $2.50/GB, monthly plansNo
BandwidthUnmeteredAllowance you choose, up to unlimited

Twenty static ISP IPs cost about $6 at Webshare and $100 at Rayobyte at list prices. See ISP compared.

Mobile and tools

Rayobyte's mobile plans start at $250 a month; Webshare has no mobile product. Rayobyte's Scraping API ($0.0018 per success), Web Unblocker ($6 to $2.50 per GB) and rayobrowse have no Webshare equivalents.

Residential tip: A common split is Webshare for cheap per-IP lists and Rayobyte for residential traffic, mobile IPs or managed scraping. Our Rayobyte pricing explained covers each Rayobyte product.

Free options

Webshare's free plan gives 10 datacenter proxies and 1 GB a month forever. Rayobyte gives a no-card trial on several products, 5,000 free API requests and 48 free browser hours. See free options compared.

Billing rules that change real costs

  • Residential reset. Webshare's residential plans are monthly and reported to reset each cycle; Rayobyte's are pay as you go (confirm expiry terms). See bandwidth expiry compared.
  • Yearly discounts. Webshare discounts annual billing, by up to about 30% on datacenter plans.
  • Prepay discounts. Rayobyte discounts static datacenter IPs 5% to 15% for 3 to 12 months up front.
  • Tier thresholds. Rayobyte's rate drops at 50, 250 and 1,000 GB.

Worked scenarios

A real-world example

A marketing agency needs 60 static IPs for client accounts, 300 datacenter IPs for rank tracking and about 80 GB of residential traffic for research and local checks. On Webshare, the 60 static residential IPs cost about $18 and 300 shared datacenter IPs under $10, so the per-IP side of the bill is tiny. For the 80 GB of residential, Rayobyte's $2 tier costs $160, a little less than a Webshare plan of similar size, and it's pay as you go, which suits the agency's uneven reporting months. The agency ends up with Webshare for IPs and Rayobyte for residential.

Budget tip: To test the Webshare side of this comparison, start with Webshare's free plan: 10 datacenter proxies and 1 GB a month with no card. See Webshare pricing explained.

Decision checklist

  • Count how many fixed IPs you need and how much traffic each carries.
  • Estimate monthly residential GB, and how much it varies month to month.
  • Check whether you need mobile or managed tools (Rayobyte only).
  • Price yearly or prepay discounts only after usage is stable.

Bottom line on price

If most of your spend is on fixed IPs, Webshare will almost always be cheaper. If most of it is residential traffic above about 50 GB a month, Rayobyte will usually be cheaper, and it's pay as you go. Mobile and managed scraping only exist at Rayobyte. Price your own mix of IPs, GB and tools on both sites, because that mix, not either provider's headline price, decides the bill.

Proxy tip: If your residential usage goes up and down, compare Geonode: its per-GB residential bandwidth doesn't expire, so you only pay for what you use. See Rayobyte vs Geonode vs Webshare.

Key takeaways

  • Webshare is much cheaper per IP for datacenter and static residential.
  • Rayobyte is cheaper for residential from around 50 GB and sells rotating datacenter per GB.
  • Mobile and managed tools are Rayobyte-only.
  • Check resets, yearly and prepay discounts before choosing.
