The short answer
A dedicated IP (or private proxy) is assigned to one customer only. You control everything that IP does, so its reputation is yours to keep or lose.
Dedicated vs shared vs semi-dedicated
- Shared: several customers use the IP at once. Cheapest, but someone else can get it banned on the site you need.
- Semi-dedicated: shared by a small, fixed number of users, often 2 or 3.
- Dedicated: only you. Costs more per IP, worth it for account work, sneaker sites and anything where one ban is expensive.

Also known as
Private proxy, exclusive IP, single-user proxy.
