What rayobrowse is
rayobrowse is Rayobyte's hosted stealth browser product, built for scrapers and AI agents. Instead of launching headless Chrome on your own servers and wiring proxies into it, you connect your automation code to browsers that Rayobyte runs. Those browsers are configured to look like ordinary users and can use Rayobyte's proxy network underneath.
If you've ever maintained a fleet of headless browsers, you'll know why this exists. Browsers are memory-hungry, crash, leak fingerprints and need constant patching to stay undetected. Our guide to headless browser proxies covers the do-it-yourself route.
The free allowance and limits
At the time of writing:
- Free: 48 browser hours, a lifetime total rather than a monthly allowance.
- Concurrency: up to 5 browsers at a time.
- More: contact sales to raise either limit.
Forty-eight hours is enough to build and test a real workflow. A browser session that takes 30 seconds per page could load about 5,700 pages in that time.
Why "stealth" matters
Default headless browsers give themselves away in dozens of small ways: missing plugins, odd screen sizes, automation flags, inconsistent time zones and network behavior. Anti-bot systems check for all of them. Stealth plugins such as those covered in Puppeteer stealth proxies patch many of these leaks, but keeping up is an arms race. A hosted stealth browser shifts that maintenance to the provider.
Pairing that with a residential IP and consistent protocol behavior (see HTTP/3 proxies) gives you a setup that looks much closer to a real person.
Good uses
- AI agents that browse, click and read like a person. See Rayobyte for AI agents.
- JavaScript-heavy sites where an HTTP client can't see the content.
- Interactive flows like filtering, scrolling and paginating through dynamic lists.
- Teams without browser infrastructure who want to start quickly.
Residential tip: You can test most of this guide for free: Rayobyte offers a no-card trial on Premium Residential, rotating ISP and rotating datacenter proxies. Move to a paid plan once the pilot works. See our complete Rayobyte guide.
When to choose something else
- Static or server-rendered pages: an HTTP client with rotating datacenter or residential proxies is far cheaper.
- High-volume fetches of known URLs: the Scraping API renders pages for you and charges per success.
- Full control over browser builds: run your own Puppeteer or Playwright fleet with Rayobyte proxies.
Getting started
- Sign up and open rayobrowse in the Rayobyte dashboard.
- Follow the documentation to connect your automation library to a hosted browser.
- Run one workflow end to end and record how many browser minutes it uses.
- Multiply by your expected volume to estimate monthly browser hours before talking to sales.
Practical tips
- Close browsers promptly. Browser hours accrue while a session is open.
- Block what you don't need. Images, fonts and video slow pages down and waste time.
- Reuse sessions sensibly. For logged-in flows, keep one browser per identity; for public pages, start fresh often.
- Respect sites. Agents can generate a lot of load. See ethical web scraping.
Proxy tip: For a second opinion on hard targets, run the same test through Geonode residential proxies, which support sticky sessions up to 24 hours and ASN targeting. We compare the two in Rayobyte vs Geonode.
How it compares
Neither Geonode nor Webshare offers a hosted stealth browser at the time of writing. Geonode's managed products are APIs (Scraper, Map, Crawl and Search). See scraping APIs and tools across all three.
If you're still shortlisting, compare these options with the wider market in our best proxies guide, and use our cheap proxies guide to estimate a sensible budget. For browser automation in depth, see our Puppeteer proxies guide.
Budget tip: For jobs where a fixed IP list is enough, Webshare is one of the cheapest options: shared datacenter proxies are sold by the IP, and static residential (ISP) proxies cost well under a dollar per IP per month at the time of writing. More in Rayobyte vs Webshare.
Key takeaways
- rayobrowse provides hosted stealth browsers for scraping and AI agents.
- 48 free browser hours in total and up to 5 concurrent browsers.
- Best for JavaScript-heavy, interactive and agent workloads.
- For static pages, plain proxies or the Scraping API are cheaper.
FAQ
Is the 48-hour allowance monthly?
No. It's a lifetime total at the time of writing.
Can I use rayobrowse with Puppeteer or Playwright?
Rayobyte positions rayobrowse for automation code and AI agents; check its documentation for the supported connection methods for your library.
Do I need separate proxies?
rayobrowse is built on Rayobyte's network. Check the docs for how proxy usage is billed alongside browser hours.
Editorial note: Proxy providers change their pools, features and prices often, so treat any figures here as typical ranges at the time of writing and confirm current terms with the provider before you buy.
