Three jobs, three proxy types
Sneaker botting isn't one task. You need proxies for monitors (watching for restocks and drops), raffles and account creation (many entries that mustn't look linked), and checkout (a fast, stable connection at the moment of release). Rayobyte sells the right product for each. Our sneaker proxies guide covers the fundamentals.
| Job | Rayobyte product | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Monitors | Static datacenter or rotating datacenter | Cheap, fast, unmetered or very low per GB |
| Raffles and account creation | Premium Residential | A different home IP per entry |
| Checkout | Static ISP | Home-ISP trust at datacenter speed, never changes |
Monitors
Monitors poll product pages and APIs constantly, so they need many cheap requests. Static datacenter IPs with unmetered bandwidth keep costs predictable; rotating datacenter traffic at about $0.30 per GB works too. Spread polling across IPs and keep each IP's rate modest. Avoid semi-dedicated IPs for sneaker sites, since other users may target the same stores.
Raffles and account creation
Raffles want unique entrants. Each entry should come from a different residential IP, ideally in the region the raffle serves. Rotate per entry with Premium Residential and use country or state targeting. Note that login pages are blocked on Rayobyte's residential network, so plan account logins on static ISP. See compliance review and restricted sites.
Checkout
On release day, you want IPs that sites trust and that won't drop mid-checkout. Static ISP proxies are the usual choice: ISP-registered addresses on fast servers, unmetered and stable. Rayobyte offers them in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France and Italy, from $5 per IP. Choose IPs in the country of the release. See our guide to ISP proxies for sneakers.
Residential tip: Before scaling, run a short pilot with Rayobyte on your real targets and record success rate, latency and GB per result. Our our complete Rayobyte guide explains which Rayobyte product fits which job.
How many proxies?
A common rule of thumb is one checkout proxy per one to three tasks, depending on the site. For 20 tasks, that's roughly 7 to 20 static ISP IPs, or $35 to $100 a month. Monitors need fewer, higher-throughput IPs. See how many proxies for a sneaker bot.
Server location
Put your bot on a server near the site's servers and your proxies' location. Latency between bot, proxy and site adds up at checkout. See sneaker bot server location.
Release-day habits
- Test proxies the day before on the actual site, not a speed test page.
- Retire IPs that get banned and replace them in the dashboard. See replacing Rayobyte IPs.
- Don't overload IPs. Too many tasks per IP is the fastest way to get it blocked.
- Keep a backup batch from a different provider in case one batch underperforms.
Testing before you buy
Static ISP IPs aren't in the self-serve trial, so ask sales for test IPs or buy the 5-IP minimum for a month. Residential and rotating datacenter are in the free trial. See the Rayobyte free trial.
Proxy tip: If your residential usage goes up and down, compare Geonode: its per-GB residential bandwidth doesn't expire, so you only pay for what you use. See Rayobyte vs Geonode.
How it compares
Webshare's static residential proxies are cheaper per IP for checkout batches, and Geonode offers ISP proxies with a 3-IP minimum plus residential for raffles. Many cooks diversify across providers. See Rayobyte vs Geonode for sneakers, Rayobyte vs Webshare for sneakers and all three for sneakers.
If you're still shortlisting, compare these options with the wider market in our best proxies guide, and use our cheap proxies guide to estimate a sensible budget.
Budget tip: If you want a cheap proxy to try this with, Webshare has a free plan with 10 datacenter proxies and 1 GB of bandwidth a month, no card required. Paid lists let you pick proxy count, bandwidth and location. See Webshare for sneaker bots.
Key takeaways
- Use datacenter for monitors, residential for raffles and static ISP for checkout.
- Match IP country to the release.
- Avoid semi-dedicated IPs on sneaker sites.
- Test on the real site before release day and keep a backup batch.
FAQ
Are Rayobyte ISP proxies good for sneakers?
Yes for checkout: they're ISP-registered, fast and static. Test on your target sites before a big release.
Can I use residential proxies for checkout?
You can, with a sticky session, but sessions can drop if the device goes offline. Static ISP is more stable.

The US, UK, Canada, Germany, France and Italy at the time of writing.
Editorial note: Proxy providers change their pools, features and prices often, so treat any figures here as typical ranges at the time of writing and confirm current terms with the provider before you buy.
